We adventured out to San Diego this past weekend to visit SeaWorld! That’s right, SeaWorld San Diego is now open! Friendly reminder SeaWorld San Diego is now operating as a theme park. Per state COVID-19 restrictions, attendance is limited to California in-state visitors, and now out-of-state visitors will be required to show proof of a fully completed COVID-19 vaccine (you are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after your second shot, or two weeks after the one-dose vaccine). Guests may also be asked to present proof of residency upon entry. Party sizes may not contain more than 3 households. To adhere to capacity guidelines, and for the health and safety of our animals, employees and guests, reservations and proper face coverings are required to enter the park.

We got invited to experience the park, food, attractions and live entertainment! We got to sample delicious food from their Seven Seas Food Festival that included 125+ flavors including 25+ unique recipes from around the world, 75+ local craft brews and 25+ cocktails and wines!

I’ll begin by sharing with you all about SeaWorld’s Seven Seas Food Festival because if you don’t already know we love to eat and enjoy eating and trying new food! It’s the biggest theme park food festival in San Diego! They have flavors of SoCal, Vegan Market, Mexico, Polynesia, Italy, Mediterranean, France, Caribbean, Bahamas Bar and more. The festival is running now through May 2, 2021 so hurry and visit soon! As soon as we arrived we picked up our food & drink sampler lanyard and we also received the 2021 event guide which made it easy for us to plan our day and decide what we wanted to eat and where to find the food we wanted.

  • On arrival to the park, go to ANY of the 7 food areas to pick up your tasting card/lanyard

We started by visiting “Mexico” located near Bat Ray Shallows. We grabbed the brisket nachos which had smoked sliced brisket, pickled jalapenos, cilantro crema and scallions. They were delicious, the meat was tender and the crema added a perfect touch! I am craving them, my mouth is getting watery as I type. To drink we grabbed a chamangorita, it was so refreshing! It’s a mango margarita with milagro tequila, chamoy, and it had tajin on the rim, so tasty!

Next we stopped at Shipwreck Reef Cafe (sampler lanyards are valid for items at some restaurants) to grab our daughters chicken tenders and fries and we also grabbed the hot honeyracha chicken wings with carrots and celery.

We took a break from eating to visit and touch the Bay Ray’s. Bay Ray’s are named for their two pectoral fins that are often referred to as wings, watch these bat rays glide gracefully through the water while having the opportunity to gently touch them.

Hubby loves BBQ so we had to stop at Calypso Bay Smokehouse to get him the BBQ smoked pork ribs that were slowly smoked with homemade BBQ sauce. While we were there, we grabbed the BBQ brisket tacos. Those came with cilantro-lime crema, roasted corn and pico de gallo! Its the sauce that does it for me, oh so tasty!

It was a warm day so we had to travel to the “Bahamas” to visit the Bahamas Bar and cool down with a Tropical Hurricane which was a mixture of sailor jerry spiced rum, midori peach schnapps and pineapple. We couldn’t leave without trying the Bay Magic Cocktail which was mixed with hendricks gin, lemon juice, simple syrup. sparking water, butterfly pea tea and lemon! Both were refreshing and they were perfect for a nice cooldown.

We knew we had to stop and try the Polynesian food, located near The Waterfront. We tried the BBQ Kalua Pork Sandwich which had pineapple slaw and let me tell you, Hubby and I both had to go back for more! We loved it that much! We topped it off with tropical cheesecake  and again we had to go back for seconds! This cheesecake was like something we had never tried before. It was made of duo cheesecakes, graham cracker crumbles and an edible flower! So delicious!

I couldn’t leave without visiting the “Flavors of SoCal” located at SkyTower Lawn. I love seafood, especially lobster! I was excited when I saw this event had white cheddar Kraft Heinz Mac N Cheese with LOBSTER!!!!! It did not disappoint, it was everything I wanted and more! So creamy, cheesy and the lobster was the added bonus!

We couldn’t leave without visiting the penguins! I call my twin daughter mis pinguinas (my little penguins)

We also made sure to enjoy the attractions, that are now open.

Health And Safety Protocols

There were hand sanitizers and hand washing stations located throughout the park. We also saw employees wiping down tables throughout the park, as soon as people finished eating and left the table, employees would walk over and clean the tables. Temperature checks are being done before entering the park and a proper face covering is required.

We had a fun time visiting SeaWorld and highly encourage you to head on over to San Diego for a day of delicious food and fun animal encounters. We are already looking forward to our next SeaWorld visit!
