We were having a hard time deciding how to spend our Spring Break this year. We realized that Palm Springs was one place that we had yet to visit with our daughters. What better time to explore our own backyard, we live about an hour and half away, then during Spring Break.

We found the perfect family friendly resort and we are so excited to share all the details with you. Let me tell you all about our stay at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa in Indian Wells. We were able to experience a relaxing getaway at the newly renovated Renaissance Esmeralda. Set within the beautiful Coachella Valley, this resort is a true desert oasis in California.

Now let me tell you all about the room. We settled right into our oversized guest room, it had a private balcony with scenic resort views. We made ourselves at home immediately. We loved the vivid colors on the walls and a minimalist yet distinctive style. The room had two queen beds with pillow top mattresses, featherbed and duvet.

If you are like me, you are always working even when on the go. I was glad the room had a desk and chair so that I could get some work done at night. Other items the room had were an iron and ironing board, mini fridge and a safe to store your valuables.

The restroom was stunning, it had fun wallpaper for us to take some selfies. I loved that the restroom had double vanities with bright lights for me to get ready every morning. The glass standing shower was beautiful and the dual shower heads were an added plus since my husband is way taller than I am lol

The room had two televisions, one on each side of the dividing wall between the beds and the living room, which was perfect for our family of four. Abigail and Aubrey were able to watch cartoons in the living room while Daddy watched sports in the bedroom. The room also comes with complimentary water you can drink or use for your morning coffee as the room does have a coffee maker and tea. We brought our own water and juice for the girls so it was nice to see a mini fridge.

With me being the coffee lover that I am, we made sure to start our day at Café Biscotti for a quick breakfast and delicious coffee. They have all kinds of coffees to satisfy your need as well as ice cream and donuts for the whole family.

We made sure to spend one whole day at the sandy beach pool. Of course we had to get a cabana since we were going to spend the day at the pool from opening to close so a cabana came in handy. The Private Cabana was fully equipped with a flatscreen TV, ceiling fans and premium coolers. Being by the pool sure makes us hungry, Hubby and I enjoyed ordering drinks and yummy food from the H20 Pool Bar. Swimming all day definitely worked up an appetite, Abigail & Aubrey had some chicken tenders and cajon fries, while Hubby and I had some seared stake nachos and some tater tots. You definitely have to try some of their cocktails and my recommendation is the Berry Good Lemonade! It was delicious and refreshing. A must try in my book.

Hubby and I enjoyed swimming in the heated pool, an added bonus for those who love swimming later in the day. Twinkies really enjoyed swimming but what they enjoyed the most was playing in the sandy beach and being able to jump in the pool then running right back to some sand fun at any time. This sandy beach was a huge hit with all the little ones. We saw so many kids come to the area to build sand castles and try to see who could dig the biggest hole lol.

That night we finished off our day with dinner and drinks at “The Place” restaurant located conveniently at the resort. It was the perfect spot to reflect on a fabulous day at the pool while everyone around us enjoyed the multitude of sports being played on all the TV’s. Twinkies were feeling adventures so they decided to try the Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich. The chicken was crispy and had just the right kick for them to handle, the cabbage jalapeno slaw was delicious on the Brioche Bun. They also had some of their favorite which was the fruit. Hubby and I went with the Crunchy Roll, let me tell you it was delicious!! The portion size was very good and there was enough for Hubby and I to share.

The next morning we fueled up with a farm-to-table breakfast at CAVA, their restaurant by the pool. We enjoyed a buffet style breakfast that had all of our breakfast staples. They had everything from eggs, sausage, potatoes, bacon and French toast. They also have an omelet station where you can get an omelet done just the way you want it and they also had something I had not seen before, they had a juicing station. You literally choose what you want and juice your own drink, just the way you want it.
